Many layers of wool are compressed into the double-stitched, thick woolen encasement with many equally tight tufts. Every step of this mattress is carefully hand-made with precise attention to detail. This gorgeous wool-filled mattress is a product that will be passed on to future generations. You will not need to replace your mattress in 5, 10, 20, or even 50 years. A queen size mattress has over 100 tufts which are tightly tied to compress the mattress, leaving only about 10% more compression from regular use over time.

Wool mattresses do require more care than modern spring coil mattresses! The mattress should be placed on a slatted frame, to give it continual airflow. Wool is an ‘active fiber’ which self neutralizes very quickly. We recommend taking the mattress into direct sun to be revitalized once a year.
